Introduction

The Problem
I attended a property where the customer was experiencing several problems with their uPVC door.

The top hinge was lowered back to its correct position before the remaining hinges were carefully adjusted to bring the door back into perfect alignment.
Once the door was sitting square within the frame, I repositioned the top and bottom keeps, which had also been left too high. These were adjusted so the locking points engaged within their correct operating tolerances.
Finally, the locking mechanism was fine-tuned to ensure every locking point engaged smoothly and evenly, allowing the door to be pulled tightly against the weather seals when locked.
Why Correct Alignment Matters
Simply adjusting one hinge rarely solves an alignment problem.
Every hinge, locking point and keep works together as part of a complete system. If one adjustment is incorrect, it affects the position of the entire door.
